Squirrels are very smart animals. They hide many nuts in the ground. They can remember where they put thousands of nuts, even after a long winter.

Squirrels also trick other squirrels. Sometimes a squirrel pretends to bury a nut, but it really hides the nut somewhere else. This shows squirrels are clever.

A squirrel's tail is very useful. It helps the squirrel balance when it jumps. It also keeps the squirrel warm. The squirrel can move its tail to talk to other squirrels.

Squirrels can turn their back legs around. This helps them climb down a tree with their head first.

Squirrels also help nature. When they forget some nuts, new trees can grow from them. So squirrels help make new forests.
