The Uffizi Gallery is a famous museum in Florence, Italy. It has many beautiful paintings from the Renaissance. Artists like Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo made art there.
The building is very old. People built it in the 16th century. It was first an office building. The word 'uffizi' means 'offices' in Italian.
During World War II, people moved many paintings to safe places. They wanted to protect the art from bombs.
In 1993, a car bomb exploded near the museum. It hurt people and damaged the building. Some paintings were damaged too.
After the bombing, experts worked hard to fix the paintings and the building. This restoration took a long time.
Today, the Uffizi Gallery has more than one thousand paintings. It is still one of the most important museums in Europe.
